The Fairfax Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining the Town's roads, facilities, parks, paths, sidewalks, and water and wastewater utility. The Public Works Director, Matthew Guerino, oversees the Highway Crew and Utility Department and can be contacted with concerns regarding maintenance and operations at 802-849-6111 extension 17.
The Utility Department is an asset of the Town of Fairfax that serves the village area with municipal water and wastewater. Randy DeVine, Superintendent, operates the system from an office at the wastewater treatment plant on Hunt Street.
The Highway Crew operates out of the Town Garage at 317 Fletcher Road. The Crew Leader works with a crew of three to maintain over 60 miles of road of which less than half are paved.
